20 Miles from Letcombe Regis to Goring
On the way up the hill towards the ridgeway we passed the Ridgeway Youth Hostel. It looked like a large facility and is closer to the ridgeway than our accomodation was. The link is given below.
We got our final views of the North Downs as we travelled along. The weather was sunny but not too hot. In the distance the A34 interrupted the view and provided some less welcome background noise. Planting of more trees along it would probably be of benefit. Its good walking terrain along here but there is some damage to the trail from heavy vehicles.
The walk down to Goring was sheltered by the sun by tree overhang. It was fairly pleasant although the miles began to take their toll. Goring itself was very welcome. An Excellent place to stay overnight and eat.
